DESCRIPTION: Barrier Coat #85 is an insulating radiant barrier paint made of ground metallic aluminum pigment blended into an acrylic polymer vehicle and reinforced with Hy-Tech Insulating Ceramics. Barrier Coat is designed for use as a radiant barrier coating for attics, ceilings, walls and also a superior
water vapor barrier preventing “in the wall” condensation buildup due to water vapor transmission. The elimination of “in the wall” condensation improves existing insulation properties by keeping the insulation dry. Wall vapor barriers also eliminate peeling paint due to vapor transfer from inside to outside wall surfaces. Tests show that Radiant barriers can reduce summer ceiling heat gains by up to 42 percent compared to an attic with the same insulation level and no radiant barrier.” Barrier Coat boasts a pure 0% VOC pigment in an environmentally friendly water
base formula. Easy to apply, low odor and fast drying.

USES: Ideal radiant heat barrier for ceilings, walls and in attics when applied to underside of roof decking.

SPECIFICATIONS:

Colors: Standard: Silver Gray
Certification: Formulated without lead, mercury or solvents.
Surface Preparation: Surfaces must be clean and free of dirt, mildew, grease, excess chalk, loose or scaling paint. Paint will not stick to a chalky surface Mildew should be washed with a solution of 1 cup TSP, 1 Qt of household bleach and 3 Qts. of water, rinse well and allow to dry.
Application: Stir thoroughly before use. Apply 2 full generous coats by brush, roller or spray gun.
Roller: ¾”-1-1/2” nap depending on surface texture.
Spray: Remove all filters, tip size .019-.024 pump size 1 Gal per Min. Avoid over spreading. First coat should be allowed to dry 1-2 hours
before applying the second coat. Do not thin or add other paints or solvents.
Clean brushes, rollers and other painting tools in warm soapy water after use.

LIMITATIONS:

Do not apply when temperature of air and surface is below 50° F (10° C) Do not use for immersion
service or substrates constantly in contact with moisture. Do not apply below grade. CLOSE CONTAINER AFTER EACH USE. STORE in a clean, dry place. KEEP FROM FREEZING

Avoid prolonged or repeated contact with skin and breathing of vapors or spray mist. Coatings should only be applied when
ventilation is adequate. If there is not adequate ventilation, applicators should wear respirator protection approved by
NIOSH / MSHA (TC-23C or equivalent).
